12/8/08 MATH2200 2 5 5 1 emoticon smiley flag   Excellent teacher, very laid back. I understood almost everything he taught. I am not a good math student at all but did well in his class. He does move a little fast, so it helps to have taken calculus in high school. Either way, I would recommend him.

10/8/08 Math2200 4 1 1 2 emoticon_unhappy flag   Phil is hands down the worst teacher I have ever had. He is impossible to follow, probably because he doesn't know what or why he is doing something. He scribbles aimlessly, then grunts, erases half of it, then moves on to the next problem. He is incredibly adept at making simple problems seem complicated and vague. Save yourself the pain & trouble
6/16/08 MATH1113 4 5 4 2 emoticon smiley flag   Phil is great! The course sucks because of J-Exam, but Phil tries to make it as easy as possible. He uses worksheets in class that mirror the problems on J-Exam. If you don't do well on the test, he'll walk you through it in office hours to see what you did wrong and will often award points back if you just made a careless error. Highly recommend.
