Music Appreciation. Prof. Allen is knowledgable, respectful and kind. I would ignore some of these and any other reviews you read on here in which the reviewer doesnt take time to convey a clear, college-level thought. This websites usefullness inspite of this has yet to prove itself. If you are looking for "easy" grades, try phoenix online. | ||

This is the actual professor. I just came across this site by accident today. Although I appreciate the compliments and acknowledge the negative criticism -- in the end, the only criticismsI validate are that of my colleagues and of the students when I read my "official" class evaluations done in class...not on this site. Allen is passionate about music and carries himself well. There is no book required, but take good notes! He pauses slow enough, and spells out composers names so you don't have to worry! And there are so many extra credit opportunities he gives, it's impossible not to get an A -and also not to enjoy the class and genuinely learn about MUSIC! :) | ||

I find this professor to be extremely knowledgeable and passionate about music! I have read some of the harsh comments from other students and it is obvious that they hold major grudges against him. An example would be someone said he stinks at jazz band in Dec. 2007 when he hired an international jazz artist to teach the jazz band -- go figure? | ||
